In the course of gathering material for his books, Yenne has traveled far and wide. He followed the entire 3,000 miles of the Lewis and Clark Trail; he flew in the jump seat of a B-52 bomber on a training flight for a classified Cold War mission; he fired a Thompson submachine gun in an organized shooting competition (and did pretty well); and he has climbed to the top of two dozen Gothic cathedrals across Europe.
